Come prepared: Make sure you have a good amount of water (especially in the summer months), proper attire, flash light, and proper footwear. There is not a manicured path. You'll be having to get creative in some areas to get around.

not the biggest fan of guided tours. but still loved all the views this hike had to offer. we had a couple 10 year old kids with us and they did just fine.

Fantastic adventure! My wife and I took four of our children, ages 7,10,13 and 17, and everyone had a great time. We upgraded to the AllTrails Pro app ($30/yr) and used the default map on my iPhone 7 Plus and it worked like a charm, even in Airplane Mode. We followed the standard trails to see Surprise and Skull Arch, plus several exploratory detours of our own that were simply delightful. Total trip time for our little band was 3.75 hours. Take plenty of water and snacks. Do NOT enter without a guide or a really good app.

I am a huge fan of adventure. Going somewhere that is not the standard path. The Fiery Furnace is in a way that opportunity. If you're coming to the area, plan ahead and get in there.

That said, it is well worth it. Get in and have a good time. Just plan ahead and be safe.

Go early! If you're starting in late you might find you lose the light before you get out.

Things you should know: You have to get a permit to enter the furnace. You have an option of going alone, though this is unadvised for most. Or to go with a Park Ranger. You MUST reserve your place with a Ranger early as they only do so many each day. It can be very dangerous to go alone as you will have no reception and no GPS inside.

Amazing! Make sure to get a permit or go with a tour group. We had so much fun exploring and could spend days in here. There is no actual marked trails, other than they have some arrows periodically that show where the tour groups go, so it's easy to get lost. Lots of scrambling and tons of exposure. Be very courteous and mindfully. Don't litter and don't leave trash.

Absolutely best hike and stone maze under the moon.
