Food is very good. The place in general looks not very clean and there was a cockroach on the floor. Other than that it's a good place to eat.
Charro is a small sit down restaurant that is a favorite among locals. The food is very good...perhaps a just little different than you will find at the other Mexican restaurants in town. Beware they do not have a liquor license so there is no alcohol to be had. I gave them a 4 instead of a 5 because of this...not because of food or service. Recommend you have stiff one before you head over there. Also, if you like your table salsa on the warmer side make sure to ask for the hot stuff. They do not normally bring that out but gladly will if you ask.
Not the most authentic Mexican food. We’re from Arizona and have Mexican at least once a week, but if you’re not familiar with Mexican you’ll probably enjoy it and be none the wiser. However, the salsa tasted a bit like a tomato soup, the Chile relleno had mozzarella and what seemed like marinara sauce on it, the hot sauce looked like curry and had a slight fish sauce taste and the beef taco was like something I’d make at home with store bought ingredients and a taco seasoning packet. The enchilada was good and the rice and beans were decent. Nothing had a lot of spice. The place was full on a week night when we were there and the staff were friendly and attentive.
We ate Mexican dinner here passing through town. We ordered combination dinners. The food was fantastic. It was well prepared and just the right portions. I thought I was in a five star restaurant! Very good dinner and I can't wait to go back.
I normally don't write reviews, but my wife and I stopped in after visiting arches. I always have a hankering for Mexican food and this place is by the best place I have ever eaten. There was a generous amount of food on each plate too and prices weren't bad. I'd definitely go back if I'm ever in the area again.
