We never even made it to the park! In attempt to make reservations for a family vacation, we called Pack Creek Campground and were told we would have to make an inquiry, including giving card information, on their website. and that we would receive a call or email promptly if we received a spot. A call never came, let alone an email, so we proceeded to make reservations elsewhere. We were quick to call Pack Creek again to cancel and were told to wait for an email. The email never came and less that a day later $70 was taken from our account. Upon calling the campground yet again, the clerk who answered was immediately rude. He told us that we could cancel but that we would still be charged a cancellation fee even though we never received an email. An argument ensued and to end the conversation, the man told us "I am glad you are staying somewhere else".
I really felt compelled to review Pack Creek Campground after reading some of the negative reviews. We stated here for four nights recently and could not have had a better experience. Our site (EW34) was incredibly spacious and had an amazing view. Some of the full hookup sites were tight (for those with slide-outs), but each set of two pulled in opposing and had a tree and picnic table between, so you still had your own space and weren't opening your door to another RV's door. The bathrooms are probably the best we've seen in our last month+ of traveling. There was a creek and dog run for our dogs. The tent sites across the creek are extremely private and nice. The whole site was incredibly well kept and clean; they even offer recycling (which we haven't seen at an RV campground, yet). The campground was quiet and peaceful. Finally, the owner (manager?) was incredibly helpful and even have us a list of dog-friendly hikes once he saw our dogs in the car and came around with his pup to see if ours wanted some playtime in the dog run. Honestly, cannot recommend this place enough. If you're worried about space, view the map and select one of the more spacious spots. Oh, almost forgot, they offer three nights free for military. Great spot!
Good sites for tent camping, not so much for RVs/trailers. Sites are pull through but extremely close together. The RV next to our trailer couldn't leave until we did due to lack of space between sites and narrow driving lane. Staff seemed fairly incompetent as we couldn't get checked in until her supervisor got there because she didn't know how to take payment. They also charge extra (like a hotel would) based on how many people you have staying in your campsite. On the plus side the bathrooms were very clean and the washer and dryers worked well.
This place is awesome! $20 for hot showers, secluded campsite, water spicket at the site, cheap laundry services on site, and being centrally located. I meant to take a picture of the spacious tent site and additional area by the creek where you can place your tent in the shade, but forgot. The staff is really nice and attentive as well. They came by and fixed the misters under the picnic area without us saying anything.
Helpful owners. Quiet. Wished I had time to walk the creek cause it looked peaceful. Soft sand so was hard to level.
