The bookmarks at this place are utterly ridiculous filled with nonsensical mantras and lame pictures. They really need to upgrade their inventory to something or better quality,
Loved this park. Schafer Canyon Road starts almost directly across the road and is an exciting drive down the canyon wall. Off road but you can get to the bottom with AWD vehicle. We did it in a Toyota Sequioa, low gear, no 4wd needed. Every view point on the main road is unique as well.
Not too much to say. Everything is in line with what you can expect from a visitor center.
Super helpful rangers helped us plan our afternoon in the park. Definitely recommend this as THE place to get your bearing while on a trip into the canyon. They really care about the quality of the visitor's experience in the park.
Very nice visitor center and very helpful rangers. The restrooms are pit toilets and are somewhat stinky though.
